At Last, A Sensible Outcome...

It seems this one was worth keeping an eye on:
Mrs Ritchie-Fallon, of Long Close, Pennington, was found not guilty of assault by beating at Southampton Magistrates' Court.
Thank the lord, a victory for common sen..

Oh:
Councillor David Kirk, Hampshire County Council’s executive member for children’s services, said: “Hampshire County Council guidelines will be followed which means we will be carrying out an internal inquiry to determine if any further action is required.

Eve Ritchie-Fallon’s suspension will continue until the outcome of that inquiry.”
You're guilty until proven innocent, and sometimes not even then...

Ah yes, but the lad had "ADHD" (a completely made up condition) which, as you explained this morning, is one of the Victimhood Poker cards that trumps "woman".

I'd just take my salary, & encourage them to ake as long as they liked with the enquiry.

..... or even "take" as long as they like.

Isn't there something about umpires' decisions and abiding by them, I seem to recall?

Surely they're just following the preferred EU protocol - keep going back until you get the result you want.

The only other instance I've ever encountered which bears a similarity is an old football game I've got on the playstation; if you lose you can replay the match as many times as you like. Any guesses?

Well done, it is the European Championship..

FFS, the courts, infinitely wiser than a school board of governors (I know, I've been one in my time and the level of imbecility and self-importance is truly staggering) have found the teacher not guilty. Who the fuckety fuck do the other lot think they are to reach a different decision?

Oh, I don't think it's completely made up - I'm sure there are some people that suffer from it, as with dyslexia.

I do, however, doubt it's anything like as widespread as schools and parents would have us believe.

"I'd just take my salary, & encourage them to ake as long as they liked with the enquiry."

Indeed. But she seems pretty dedicated to her job, so this must be galling.

I guess not.

Heh! True...

"Who the fuckety fuck do the other lot think they are to reach a different decision?"

That's the problem - give a bunch of ordinary people power, and sometimes unexpected results can bite you...

I suspect that ADHD, like dyslexia, though real enough in some cases are also middle class jargon for 'We didn't teach our child manners, or make him do his homework.'

Conversely and oddly enough, kids at the schools I worked in tended to be diagnosed for these syndromes more frequently the lower down the socio-economic scale their parents [mothers] were. Rohypnol worked on some, but I can't help thinking that a damn good hiding after each incident of 'challenging behaviour' would have cured most of their afflictions. Cheap, too.

It'd have to be. That, or a particularly virulent virus, given the way it's spread...
